Pang boasts a nimble technique and a gift for wiry intensity, as well as a particularly strong rhythmic command" (Joshua Kosman, SF Chronicle).
Recorded at the age of twelve, Chloe received critical acclaim for her Debut CD of Bach's Goldberg Variations by International Piano Magazine, 'astonishing...a natural musician right to the ends of her eloquent finger tips...experience a performance of this epic work that holds heart and mind in such perfect balance - treasurable'. Excerpts were premiered on San Francisco's 102.1 KDFC and her CD was nominated BEST Classical Album by Just Plain Folks Awards 2006. In utero, Chloe kicked to the rhythm of the Goldberg Variations. Her parents, believing she had innate rhythm, thought she would benefit from early musical training, to which their physician replied, 'It's just the hiccups'. Chloe performed the formidable work at the MTAC (Music Teachers' Assoc. of California) State Convention in Los Angeles as a featured guest artist, and at San Francisco Conservatory's Hellman Hall.
Recital engagements have included appearances from coast to coast. As a top prizewinner in the Pinault International Competition, Chloe made her New York debut at Columbia Artists' CAMI Hall. Never having had a formal piano lesson, it was only after she plucked out melodies on the piano, singing incessantly and marking up music scores, that her mother began teaching her at 4, a relationship that continued for the next five years. At 6, Chloe vowed to live by Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken", which still graces her bedroom door.
